Representing HERGEN, Application Engineer Fernando Winckler Balen presented the lecture “Sustainability and Efficiency in Tissue Machines”, offering a technical and strategic perspective on how modernizing equipment and processes can improve the operational performance of factories while reducing environmental impacts, a central theme for the industry’s competitiveness.

Key challenges and opportunities in the tissue market

During the presentation, Fernando highlighted increasingly relevant challenges for tissue paper manufacturers, such as:
Growing market competitiveness
Demand for higher quality products
High energy costs
Need for rational water use
Operational safety

Based on this scenario, opportunities for improvement that directly impact industrial sustainability were presented, including more efficient refining, formation optimization, advances in drying, use of Crescent Former technology, and reduced garment consumption.

Solutions that deliver performance with sustainability

 Performance that drives sustainability

The content presented in the workshop is directly aligned with ECOPerformance, a sustainability program applied to HERGEN products that guides the development of solutions focused on operational efficiency, resource optimization and waste reduction. Each of the highlighted technologies reinforces the central proposition of ECOPerformance: to deliver machines and processes that combine high operational performance through sustainable technologies, contributing to a more competitive, modern, and responsible paper industry.

HERGEN and ABTCP

HERGEN thanks ABTCP for organizing the event and invites industry professionals to continue following the news, technical content, and training opportunities.

Together, we drive a more efficient and sustainable paper industry!
